If the rumor mills are to be believed then the much awaited Windows 7 is going to arrive on October 22, 2009. The final version will be the release to manufacturing. The top features of Windows 7 are the completely redesigned taskbar, media streaming, Home group networking, device stage and above all the XP Mode. Since I am an XP freak. I appreciate the fact that windows hasn't forgotten to keep open the XP mode and not let it die as it is.
Windows 7 boasts a faster system startup unlike the predecessors and definitely it has improved performance over Vista which is a big black mark on Windows OS map. The only negative thing might be the system requirements that have grown along with the speed and stability of Windows 7. I am one of those guys who hasn't moved on to Vista from XP and waiting for a better version of Windows and I am damn sure that Windows 7 is going to be the next best thing.
As of now while you are waiting for the release you can try it out for free with the RC version waiting for your download. It expires logically in March 2009 but till then, you are the KING. You can download Windows RC from Microsoft website...
