1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 !!!

What I am not teaching you any numbers... I just want to show you a magic with numbers. Are you into watching peculiar numbers that are associated with time like 06:06:06 on 06/06/2006. It was back in 2006 three years back. I was really fascinated with that number. Now there is one such sequence coming up in the month of august this year and its gonna be really interesting.

At 12:34 and 56 seconds on 7th august 2009 according to Indian calendar we will witness a time stamp that shows the peculiar digits of 12:34:56, 7/8/9. This is amazing and just saw this from a blog of my friend Nagrockz. Then I used my own thought process to find something silly and I found that silly thing. Again at 09:09:09 on september 9th 2009 you will have something like 09:09:09, 9/9/9. This will never come again for you to witness in your lifetime. Give me a pat for this discovery....

Which fat foods should you avoid???

Which foods should we consider fat rich foods? Have a doubt ask me. In general, a food that is high in total fat will have 13g or 20% daily value of fat per serving or more. Here is a listing of high-fat foods which should avoid or stay away from them or atleast try to have them in moderation::

* Chocolate candies
* Trail mix(especially varieties containing chocolate chips)
* Cheese sauce
* Ricotta cheese
* Chicken pot pie
* Pie
* Condensed milk(sweetened)
* Homemade white sauce
* Ribs
* Macadamia nuts, pecans and cashews
* Potato salad
* Hash browns
* cheesecake
* Spinach souffle
* Baked beans with franks

Beef, pork, lamb, turkey and chicken are also considered to be fat rich products but the fat content can be reduced by trimming off visible fat before cooking and serving them. Serving them broiled, grilled, boiled or roasted instead of deep frying can also be helpful in stopping some fat content.

"Samundari Khazana" - Most expensive curry ever...

Ever heard of a $1000 lobster curry or a $1000 crab curry? Ever did you spend a $1000 for a bowl of some stupid curry? Now is your chance to spend more than $3000 on a single bowl of curry. It has come from the kitchen of Prahlad Hegde, the head chef from London curry house Bombay Brasserie. Prahlad believes that there are still many people who are willing to shell out the extra buck to pamper their taste buds.

The curry is named as "Samundari Khazana" meaning "Treasure from the sea". Most of the other websites have dubbed it wrongly as "Seafood Treasure". Priced at 2000 pounds, this curry is the world's most expensive curry. This contains the most expensive ingredients available which makes it the expensive dish. Devon crab, white truffle, half tomato filled with beluga caviar and dressed with gold leaf, a Scottish Lobster also coated with gold, four abalone, four shelled and hollowed quails' eggs filled with even more caviar are the stuff that made up this dish. Everything in this dish is edible.

Some of the biggest Virus Attacks...

Virus attack is supposed to be one that causes a person to get sick and hence consult a doctor. But that was before the dawn of computers. Now virus attack is completely assigned to the comp. world. There are millions of computers attacked by viruses may not be daily but yearly. Here is a list of few deadly virus attacks from the past few decades...

* Elk Cloner(1982) - It is the first virus that hit personal computers worldwide. It spread through Apple II floppy disks. The programme was authored by Rich Skrenta, a 9th grader, who wanted to play a joke on his schoolmates.

* Brain(1986) - This is the first virus to hit Microsoft's DOS enabled computers. It was written by two Pakistani brothers and they left the phone number of their computer repair shop. It would fill unused space on the floppy disk. BusinessWeek magazine called it the Pakistani flu.

* Morris(1988) - It was written by a Cornell University grad student, Robert Tappan Morris. The virus infected an estimated 6000 university and military computers connected over internet. The irony here is that Morris's father was a top govt. computer-security expert.

* CIH(1998) - There was a lull period for a decade, then came one of the most harmful viruses, Chernobyl virus also known as CIH in 1998. It overwrites critical information on infected system drives. It is also known as "space filler virus", due to its ability to clandestinely take up file space on computers and disable anti-virus software.

* Melissa(1999) - It was one of the first viruses to spread over email. When users opened an attachment, the virus sent copies of itself to the first 50 people in the user's address book and covered the globe within hours. It caused more than $80m in damage after it was launched in March 1999.

* ILOVEYOU(2000) - Also called "Love Bug" spread via email attachments and tricked recipients into opening it by disguising itself as a love letter. Companies in Australia had to close down their email systems to keep the virus from spreading.

* Code Red(2001) - One of the most expensive viruses in history, exploited vulnerability in Microsoft IIS servers. It needed just a network connection to spread. The virus struck multiple times on the same system.

* Blaster(2003) - Also known as Lovan took advantage of a flaw in Microsoft software. Microsoft offered cash rewards to people who helped them capture the virus writers. The worm started circulating in August 2003.

* Sasser(2004) - It led to several computers crashing and rebooting themselves. It caused infected computers to restart continuously every time a user attempted to connect to the internet. The first version struck on April 30, 2004.

* Storm worm(2007) - The storm worm originally posed as breaking news of bad weather hitting Europe. Then it disguised itself in several forms. users who fell for it unknowingly became a part of a botnet.

* Conficker(2008) - Also known as Downup, Downadup and Kido uses a combination of advanced malware techniques and spread rapidly into one of the largest computer worm infection. There have been two variants since its first detection in November 2008.

Gmail Labels are so important now...

Okay now Google realized the true value of labels and given them the pretty just below the top spot. If I were the developer or Gmail geek, I would have placed them horizontally above all that inbox, archive, delete and all other links. Okay its not that late either and I am happy with what Google has done with gmail. I always get this weird feeling that guys at google read my mind and give me what I ask for. I don't know if it is true but guys I have that feeling from ages.

Coming to the new Labels, in fact they are pretty old but only their positioning is changed and the new functionality of drag and drop is added to them. Many think that this drag and drop has been around for a while now, what the big deal. It is a big deal, trust me on this one atleast. I used to have problems with adding the labels to my mail by clicking this that and everything. But now I am free bird to add labels to whatever I want and whatever I don't as well. This has been rolled out to few of those gmail users from today morning and I wasn't those lucky guys as I just could experience the change a hour back. Hence, I am a bit late on reporting that. Check out for yourself what's new with this labeling stuff as soon as you get this weird message as in the pic above.

Search engine market share for June 2009...

Was just going through some statistics for internet browsers and came across this chart of comparison. This chart shows how different search engines have fared during the month of June 2009. There wasn't much of a surprise for me seeing Google - Global on top of the chart, nor the yahoo search engine following Google in a distant second.

But what really amazed me and compelled me to share with you is the entry of Microsoft's Bing Search engine into one of the top slots. It wasn't even a complete month that Bing came into live but it has already started conquering some ground. It has reached the half way stage of Yahoo search engine and guess what, the day may not be too far away when Bing overtakes yahoo for second spot and might even become a threat to Google some day. It may not be in the near future that Bing becomes a pain to Google but still achieving a 5.3% of market share within 20 days isn't a joke.
