Iphone OS 3.0 is here...

The new Iphone OS 3.0 has been released and up for grabs. You can get your copy now by just clicking "Check for update" button right now.

What's new in this OS??? First and foremost is that, now you can copy and paste your stuff which was not present in the previous OS. Some other new features include spotlight search, stereo bluetooth, push notifications and landscape keyboard for your messaging requirements. There are lot others little improvements which I haven't gone through but as of now there are the ones that I came across.

The new OS is absolutely free for all IPhone owners but it costs a megre $10 for Ipod Touch guys. You can get your OS right now and leave some comments if you have any complaints or suggestions.

Firefox 3.5 RC1 available now...

For all those firefox fans, here is some sweet, cute news to rejoice. The much-awaited firefox 3.5 has graduated from the beta stage to the RC1 stage. It is now available for download to all those enthusiastic guys out there(who want to risk with the RC). If you are already using one of those versions of 3.5x then you can directly check for updates from the help menu, from your firefox 3.5x browser or you can alternately download it from the various mirror sites.

Actually firefox has jumped from 3.0 to 3.5 as it considers this 3.5 as not just a mere update to the previous version but as a lot of innovative stuff added as ingredients. hence they didn't want to call it 3.1 and hence they skipped it to 3.5 and have created a lot of enthusiasm among web users. What it actually contains are some bug fixes and issues with wordpress. A lot of information is still under wraps and will be available as soon as the 3.5 is released as the final version.

Opera Unite... Web Server in your web browser...

Opera Unite - A web server on every computer. This is why I love Opera. They have been the front runners all the while with all their innovations and inventions. Opera web browser may not be the best but it still stands tall amidst all other web browsers available today. It is the Opera labs that has brought up so many innovations in the field of web browsing. They have been teasing me for a while with the line "We are going to re-invent web" and they have really done it.

I have just downloaded it and will try it pretty soon. As of now what it does is what I am gonna say. Opera Unite allows you to easily share data: music, pictures, files.(more like the pirate bay)It puts the power of web server in your browser without compromising your privacy or safety.

As they claim, you can use any modern browser to access Opera Unite services. You can just select what you want to share and you can view anything that you shared from anywhere, even from the mobile browsers as well(here opera mini is the king, emperor, ruler or raja).

YOu can find and install services for Unite from Opera Online catalog or you can easily create your own. I don't know if this will become a great innovation or not but it sure is a head turner with the whole of twitter raving about this new thing.

Best Web Browser... My Choice...

Google Chrome, definitely is the best browser as of now. This may be strictly my perspective but let me tell you I am no ordinary guy so my word will count for a few. Why is Chrome the best browser. There are lot of theories regarding this, like it comes from the Google family which is the most trusted brand name of all, or some say that it is a new innovation in web browsing. But how many of them gave a logic reasoning.

I first gave Google Chrome a try, just because it has been released by Google. But then the reason for my fascination towards Chrome ends there. I used it for a couple of days and thought there is nothing new in it except for the innovative tabbed browsing. some say that the quick start page is a new idea. No, it is not, this quick start page has been a part of Opera for long time. What is so great about Chrome then???

When I use firefox or Opera for a while (may be a half-an-hour or so), they start using up my memory like hell. They sometimes even clock the 400mb mark. Now coming to Chrome even you leave it there standing still or engage it in some online gaming or downloads you hardly find it using more than 150mb of ur precious memory in the worst case. Most of the time for the hard core web browser, the memory hogged by chrome is around the 70mb mark. When you have loads of memory (like the guy next to me with 8gb ram), it doesn't matter much but for a person like me with just 2gb ram it matters a lot.

Coming to the downloads, chrome has got I don't know what but some good accelerator stuff. Try downloading something from megaupload and see for yourself. It has got some good adblocking capacity. The only thing missing is the addons site which has been the mainstay for firefox. But I can say with all my senses working properly that Chrome is gonna rule the web for a long time to come.

Millionaire Slumdog...

Sounds funny right!!! But it is true. Mr. Satyam RamaLinga Raju is one guy who has come upto riches from rags and then again turned back towards his rags again. He is one guy who led life like a dream and became a dreamstar for lot of youth in India. Young want to grow up to be like him, old want their young to get inspired by him. But all this was when he was in his hay days.

But now it has all turned upside down. Mr. Raju the IT spearhead of India for a while had the honour of occupying the dias with none other than the President of United States not once but twice and he has become one of the richest persons of India in very less time with his IT background. But then like almost all other fail stories, now he too has one. Fraud and fraud and fraud is the main culprit. But has he done it or is he being made the scapegoat I don't know but as of now he is the villain.

The satyam group is more like a kingdom in the Southern part of India with RamaLinga Raju as its emperor and suddenly from nowhere all its foundations have crackled and the most famous Millionaire is now behind the 7 bars. I guess the title "Millionaire Slumdog" suits him perfectly.

Nokia N97 - The Web Tablet...

When did you last hear some phone company saying that their newly released phone can make calls and you can speak to your loved ones over their new phone. I guess it might be around 6 years back when people were advertising that you can be in touch with your people on you mobile on the go.

But the latest mobiles are more interested on providing more (mostly unnecessary) services to people other than just talking on their mobiles. One such device has come out from Nokia and it's called the all new Nokia N97 web tablet. so what it does is discussed a lot in the internet but out of all that crap, I could pick up one of those detailed analysis from Mr. Amit Agarwal of Labnol website and he gave his positive perspective of the N97. Less negatives is a negative for this write-up.

I have been a fangirl for Nokia all the while and will remain one for some time to come. But when did I buy one of their products??? Long Long ago is the answer. Innovative Wireless Earbuds...

Did you ever think about the wireless earbuds technology when you were in the 80's or 90's??? NO is ur answer and I know it. But the wireless bluetooth technology has taken over the music world may not be like a storm but atleast as a wave. Now this wireless earbud technology has gone a little further with the new design from the designer John Whaley.

This unique design as acclaimed by a few is the most ergonomic designs of all and definitely from my perspective is one of those tiny-miny tech-tools. These small tech-tools are always an yes-yes from me and they also impress the general public nevertheless. These earbuds are like the bigger version of earings worn upside down. But are they for real? Can they be bought somewhere now? NO, not yet but definitely in near future.

Google Wave... A revolution or what???

Was browsing the net and came across this new platform or web tool from Google, which I believe is going to be the next best thing to happen. Google Wave is more like the integrated version of Google chat, Gmail and a few of the Google docs as well.

Ofcourse it is still not open, but someone from Gizmodo or Lifehacker could get their hands on this new development and their first impression was that, Google Wave is definitely gonna rock and shake the web and as informed by a friend, Google Wave is gonna hit the web pretty soon. As I am one of those fans of Google, even the slightest of developments from them would fascinate me and Google never failed in making me go "Wow".

LIberkey is one software you all will crave for. It is a neat and nice package of 200 odd, mostly open source, unbelievably cool software which are portable. It is a package with 3 different variants ranging from basic to fully loaded and it's left upto you whether you want to go with the basic package or the family package.

I was astonished at first to see all the collection they have and the ease with which we can use the Liberkey thing on the windows platform. It really amazed me in the first look and the ease of use led me to downloading it without a second thought. Try it out for yourself and let me tell you, u are gonna find it too cool...

Did you try this game on ur Iphone...

I just say this on the iphone and it is a game worth mentioning. Trust me you will like it like hell. This is one game where you will get to build words with the letters that are scrambled. The name now seems apt right. But strictly speaking it helps you in building up your vocabulory and it is a good time killing game whenever ur boss doesn't give you work or on a journey.

This is such a light weight application that you rarely need any updates or much ram in that case. There are three levels and you don't find it hard to go to the 3rd level. Take my word, that you are going to come across a lot of unknown, unheard words all the while. Just give it a try....
