Basically the instant messengers are a big waste of time and moreover Yahoo messenger is like a free pass for addiction to chatting. Keeping these basic things away, why I hate Yahoo! Messenger comes from the fact that it uses tonnes of my RAM and still claims to be CPU friendly. I don't know what that exactly means.
Being CPU friendly means, you should be light in weight and you should play cool for other softwares to run simultaneously without any hiccups. But if Yahoo Messenger is running in the background and you want to run something important in the front, you are at the mercy of the messenger.
Not just being a memory hungry beast but Yahoo messenger download is also like a pain in the wrong place. You will be given a small install engine first to download from the main site. Then when you initiate it, the engine downloads a heavily loaded messenger into the computer and if that doesn't freak you out, the installation time definitely will make you cry with your face between your legs. Ofcourse it offers some good means of chatting but is there some way we can get rid of this heavy thing. Yes, you can by switching over to gtalk or someother messenger client.
