Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has got another jewel in its crown and this time its on the web. ISRO has launched a beta version of Desi Google Earth named "BHUVAN" meaning earth in Sanskrit language. This is definitely going to be a competition kinda thing for Google Earth which has been ruling the roost for a while.
Bhuvan is a web based tool just like Google Earth but with a touch of extra 3-D effects to its imagery. Bhuvan offers the pics of India from the outer space via the photos from satellites. Not just pics but you can also access the weather reports, the state and city administrative boundaries and lots of other stuff as well. Bhuvan is offering imagery of India from the past 3 years but it is definitely going to be a cool tool once it gets going and keeps updating in real time.
