The much awaited VLC media player 1.0.0 is available for download today. VLC has been the best media player for a while now and they still never hit the version 1.0. But today they have announced the release of VLC media player 1.0.0 - Goldeneye.
It is a free open source and cross-platform player. It works independently of the system codecs and hence supports most video types. It is now supporting Real Video 3.0 along with Blu-Ray, TrueHD, AES3 codecs as well. It has got live recording in-built which means you can just record your online shows for later viewing. The speed controls which were a bit of a mess have got finer. Video scaling is now available in fullscreen.
The download file is about 18 MB for Windows Operating Systems and the information for other operating systems is provided in the website and you can directly download this from the home page of VLC which is provided below.
