IIM-C student bags highest offer again...

Leaving their counterparts from other cities far behind, management students from Kolkata have shown their mantle once again. For the second year in a row, an IIM, Calcutta student has been offered the highest placement offer among all the Indian Institutes of Management.

A leading international investment bank has made an offer of a whopping Rs 1.36 crore on the first day of the recruitment drive. The placement coordinators are expecting an 18-22% hike over last year’s salary figures. But IIM authorities refused to disclose either the name of the company or the student.

"This is great news for us. Our brand value has been reaffirmed," said a student. Corporate czars from both India and abroad have lined up for the recruitments with close to 100 students being already placed in the firms of their choice.

This is a pretty good news which has come in the midst of the talk of recession doing rounds in every major International markets. Way to go IIMs....
UPDATE::
This year’s final placement surprise has once again come from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A). The premier institute recorded the highest-ever international offer of $360,000 (around Rs 1.44 crore) made by a financial conglomerate (markets) to a Post Graduate Programme (PGP) student. The offer has broken records set by the institute’s earlier batch, which got between $250,000 and $300,000 (depending on bonuses).
