First ever depiction of a Laptop...


When did mankind first think of a laptop? In a discovery that may have sent computer science historians over the moon, a Macedonian has discovered in an old issue of Flash Gordon comics what is probably the earliest known graphic depiction of a laptop like device for communicating.

The discovery was made by Mende Petreski, a native of Prilep town in Macedonia, while he was browsing through his old comics collection. This particular comics strip of 1974 represents a Serbian translation of an episode drawn way back in 1937 by Alex Raymond! Yes, the time when even personal computers had not been invented! Computer science historians aver that the first computer was developed around World War II.
