James Cameron's newest venture -- "Avatar"...

"Avatar" - The name is Avatar. This is a new Sci-Fi movie coming from the kitty of James Cameron, the renowned director. This movie is gonna be released in Dec, 09. This is the movie that is coming after the legendary "Titanic" from James Cameron. This trailer is actually confusing(speaking frankly) and a bit interesting(as a fan-boy).

There are lots of graphics, outer space exploration, never before seen action episodes and lots of other interesting stuff. Here we are dealing with the aliens and their world. It is a movie, like lots of other movies, which deals with extra-terrestrial beings. Hope this one be atleast 10% as good as Titanic and that will be enough to score 5 Oscars...

Want to find out how "Google Caffeine" works???

Google has previously released the new version of Google search algorithm code named (or may be the real name itself) "Caffeine". Did you get a chance to search in this new algorithm of Google? Now you can, here it is a website named Comparegoogle.com, where-in you can search in both the present Google search algorithm and Google's new algorithm Caffeine.

The results are shown side by side and my first impressions were that google is pressing more on its own results. By "OWN" I mean to say that if Google has some services regarding to a search, then those results are shown first in the order. Then the remaining results line-up.


I tried myself this site with my favorite search "George Bush" and the results showed up some what differently in both the algorithms. As I said Google sites were given first preference. This is just strictly my feeling and it may not be true with all the results. It better be good because bing and Yahoo search have teamed up and they definitely are making in-roads into Google market.

Windows has released a new version of Windows Live Movie Maker and it is available right now for Windows Vista and Windows 7 Operating systems. The catch here is that it is free. What it actually does? Nothing much it is another video editing software and it is free. Since it is coming out of the Microsoft compound and it being free is something really odd.

There are lots of new features in this new version and of course it is not revolutionary but a bit innovative in some aspects. It now supports the full HD (1080 Pi) video rendering and you can directly upload videos to youtube from Windows live Movie Maker. This software is strictly for Windows Vista and Windows 7. Windows XP users aren't as lucky as their counterparts.

Every day we talk about hard drives, the size, internal, external, memory and lots other stuff about the hard drives. But how many of you know "how does a hard drive work?". Here is a nice article on the functioning of a hard drive. It may not be an elaborate one but still it is pretty good article with most of the basics covered.


Do you know that the hard drive retrieves information in a nano-second? The disc on the hard drive is called "Platter", then we have the extended stick like thing that we use to read/write matter and it is called "the arm". One amazing thing about the arm is that it oscillates around 50 times a second. Copper wire is used as the "head" in most cases. London bridge is rising up!!!

Look at the car in the picture(in the red circle). The car is on a bridge, when it is lifted up by about 45degrees of angle. The driver of the car is an woman, who drove onto the bridge by mistake while it was being lifted. The bridge is the Maple-Oregon bridge and the incident occurred last week. This is one of those dangerous scenes where the car could have slid down and might have caused damage to other cars or even risk some lives.

Nothing bad happened at the site and the woman just drove off after the bridge came down to its original position. None was hurt except for a little tense moments for the lady in the car and the on-lookers. Just wanted to share with you...

Import your vintage mail and contacts into "Gmail" - The easy way!!!

Now every gmail user can import their other email and the contacts associated with the other email providers the easy way with the gmail in-built option of "import mail and contacts". This option was available from a few months to all those new gmail users, but today it is available to all by default. You can download the mails and contacts from other mail providers like yahoo, aol, hotmail, etc over the POP3 services.

If you want to try it out, just click the "Settings" link on the top right corner of the gmail window, and then click on "Accounts and Imports" tab, there you can see the first button "Import mail and contacts". The easy user interface will guide you through the next steps of importing. Be careful not to delete your mails from other mail systems.
