Deadly Mac Book Air...

I was wondering what this thin Mac Book Air could do other than just sitting aesthetically on the bench. I was wrong, this could become a deadly weapon considering the comments made by the person in the left picture above. He was awestruck by the effect this Mac can have on you if you are a little careless while handling this laptop. He is hurt really bad with the bruise clearly not skin deep.

The right piture shows how the Lappy is cutting into the bread, how harsh on the part of Apple. If they see these pics they would be happy that atleast the Mac Book Air is useful this way...

Waldspirale Apartment, really wonderful...

The Waldspirale apartment building in Darmstadt, Germany, has a roof completely covered with vegetation and has over a thousand windows - each UNIQUE !!!

While the striped exterior and onion domes leave much to be desired aesthetically, the ramping green roof is just amazing. It extends the green courtyard across the whole development, giving residents easy access to this area.

The building is a complete masterpiece of design and what I love about it is that it is just fun to look at!

something for the ladies...

Even today in the 21st century, a significant pay gap exists between working men and women in the United States. According to the National Committee on Pay Equity, in 2006 women earned approximately 25 percent less than men in the same occupational group with similar qualifications. This figure is especially distressing because it hasn't changed appreciably in the last decade. The National Committee on Pay Equity estimates that this wage gap may not close until 2057.

Though gender discrimination remains a lingering, insidious issue, women have more options than ever for flexible, lucrative employment. Here are five great jobs for women that are narrowing the gender wage gap.

1. Personal Financial Advisor

2. Psychologist/Therapist

3. Entrepreneur

4. Education Administrator

5. Human Resources Manager

World's Biggest Drawing...

Yeah, that's what this digital painter says. The most important thing in this painting is that it was generated through the travel of a GPS system enclosed in a briefcase.

Of course the drawing may not be a masterpiece and it may not be for real, but still the thought of the artist is to be appreciated whole-heartedly...

Memorial Day Holiday...

Memorial Day is a United States federal holiday that is observed on the last Monday of May (observed in 2008 on May 26). It was formerly known as Decoration Day. This holiday commemorates U.S. men and women who have died in military service to their country. It began first to honor Union soldiers who died during the American Civil War. After World War I, it was expanded to include those who died in any war or military action.
Many people observe this holiday by visiting cemeteries and memorials. A national moment of remembrance takes place at 3 p.m. US Eastern time. Another tradition is to fly the U.S. flag at half-staff from dawn until noon local time. Volunteers usually place an American flag upon each grave site located in a National Cemetery.

YouTomb - Umm Interesting...

YouTomb is a research project by the MIT “that tracks videos taken down from [Google-owned] YouTube for alleged copyright violation,” as the site explains.

More specifically, YouTomb continually monitors the most popular videos on YouTube for copyright-related takedowns. Any information available in the metadata is retained, including who issued the complaint and how long the video was up before takedown. The goal of the project is to identify how YouTube recognizes potential copyright violations as well as to aggregate mistakes made by the algorithm.

YouTomb was built by MIT Free Culture, a student organization at MIT. Active Free Culture chapters exist at many schools and universities, they work together to promote open access to knowledge and culture.

Firefox 3 - The speediest browser...

This is claimed by just not me but many firefox users and the LifeHacker team has come up with some solid statement which goes like this...
Mozilla VP of engineering Mike Schroepfer claims that Firefox 3 is 9.3x faster than Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 and 2.7x faster than Firefox 2 in terms of JavaScript performance. In terms of Gmail message load time, he claims Firefox 3 is 6.8x faster than IE7 and 3.8x faster than Firefox 2. And he says Firefox 3 beats Apple's Safari, which is also faster than Firefox 2.

But I still prefer firefox 2 over firefox 3 because the 3 rd version isn't yet supporting all the addons that I need and love. But you can give a try....

My blog on Google search...

Just type amitab blog in google and see in the results. You can see your's, my favorite blog http://www.adarshcha.blogspot.com/ in the search results. It is placed third in the google search results, which I believe is a pretty good achievement on my part. I haven't publicised my blog much yet but it seems the time has come for me to advertize my blog. I got the courage that even I can write some sense in my blog.

Prince Caspian spells his magic...

"Things never happen the same way twice," says the lion Aslan, but the latest version of The Chronicles of Narnia does it the second time as well. Yes, this episode is pretty good and it can even get better if a sequel follows this movie.
I am a fan of Susan the elder of the Queens of the Narnia. But the character that catches your eye ofcourse is that of Prince Caspian. He was looking charming and refreshing. He was looking like a real prince. The graphics as usual make you spellbound.

With bigger battles and scarier monsters than its predecessor, this movie is going to have a smooth ride at the box-office. I would recommend you guys to plz don't watch it in the pirated cam rips or something else, experience it on the silver screen. (Issued in Public Interest.)

Green Vehicles' Triac coming in July...

Green Vehicles' Triac three-wheeled highway-capable electric car is anything but stupidly adorable. The top speed is 80mph, and the range is just about 100 miles on a full charge, down from 120 miles as originally estimated. The Triac will also roll with a five-speed transmission, and charge from either a 120V or 240V power source.

They promise that the lithium-ion batteries are good for at least 2000 cycles, which should last you about 5 years. Green Vehicles is accepting pre-orders for July delivery of the Triac, which means you could actually be silently cruising the beaches in this thing come summer. For those concerned about safety and all that "not dying" stuff, Green Vehicles has assured the press that a safety cage designed by race car fabrication experts has been integrated into the car's design.

One Cool Elevator trick...

When we press the floor no. button on the panel lift start moving. But if someone on the next floor calls the lift the lift stop for them, this could be very irritating in rush hours !

Now, if you Press the Floor No. Button and the Close Door Button both at same time then the elevator would not stop for any one in the way and will stop directly on the destination floor !

** Note in some elevator systems this trick might not work **

Night lights from Space

Just click on this pic to view it in larger version. This is how the world looks during the nights.
We can see that the African continent is a lot in dark. Compared to India, United States and the European countries, all other countries are pretty dull looking. I guess there is a lot of night life in these parts of the world.

Iron Man -- My View...

I just came back home after watching Iron Man, the film tattooed with the sticker that says the second best grosser in the first weekend of its release just after SpiderMan. There were just a bunch of people in the theatre, but I can understand its the 11:40 pm show.
The film as expected (by me) didnot stand up to the expectations. You can expect the storyline within the first 20 mins. There were some uncommon scenes in the movie. I would like to ask one question, what a US born billionaire is doing in Afghanistan?
This film can't be compared to the master-piece SpiderMan in any way. The lead actors have no charm to attract audience. I felt like watching sylvester stallone all the way. Ofcourse this movie elevates how the weapons of mass destruction could cause massive loss to humanity, but the main theme of this movie is sidelined within no time.

One thing that stands out is the use of technology which is not a new thing in Hollywood but this movie stands out from the masses.

Happy Mother's Day

Mother's Day is a celebration for honoring all mothers and expressing gratitude to them for all that they do to bring up a child. Most countries including the U.S., Australia, Canada and India celebrate on or near the second Sunday of May. The practice of honoring of motherhood is rooted in antiquity, and past traditional often had strong symbolic and spiritual overtones. Only in the past few centuries have celebrations of motherhood developed a more human focus.
The majority of countries that celebrate Mother's Day do so on the second Sunday of May. On this day, it is common for Mothers to be lavished with presents and special attention from their families, friends and loved ones.

A westernized version of Mother's Day is officially observed on May 10 in India. On this day mothers receive flowers, a prepared meal, cards or a phone call. Yet apart from the modern version of Mother’s Day, Hindus have long celebrated a 10 day festival in October called Durga Puja. As the ancient Greeks honored their earth goddess, the Hindu holiday praises their divine mother, Durga.

Stage6 returning back...

For all those stage6 fans who are completely down after the closure of the site, here is some good news which is very confidential. Stage6 isn't completely dead. It's returning back as vreel.net.

I just got to have a look at the vreel site. The above pic depicts vreel in its entirity. The tagline express yourself is lifted from the cellular gaint from India Airtel. The tagline goes like this "Express Yourself". It has the same features like stage6.com, with all the video downloads and hosting being free as always. The vreel site is going to go online in this month itself. Let's party guys...

What a dedication!!!

Just watch the pin that will slit his throat across if this person bends his head. This is the kind of rigorous practice that the Chinese officials are undergoing for the upcoming Olympics in China. Bravo!!!

Seperated at birth...

Just watch the similarities in Airtel and YouTube. Both are legends in their respective fields. One is the King of Cellular network in India and other the master of video hosting and sharing in the entire world. Who is gonna sue the other boy...

Rafael Nadal loses on clay court...

Why am I mentioning this post on Rafael Nadal? Didn't he lose before on clay courts or what? Is he an immortal coming to the game of tennis on clay courts? Yes, my answer is yes. Considering the winning streak he has on clay courts, he is the hero of clay court tennis.

The second-ranked Spaniard lost on clay for only the second time in 105 matches, falling to countryman Juan Carlos Ferrero 7-5, 6-1 in the second round of the Rome Masters. Did I mention it is the just the second time in 105 outings on a clay court, him being ranked second and under the cloud of the legend Roger Federrer.

I was awestruck with the record that he held and still holding for the continuous winning streak of 81 consecutive matches on clay, a streak that began in 2005. Don't you think this is a formidable task. Because of this rare stint, even his lose is mentioned in my blog.

Dell designer wear Inspiron 1525

Dell has released the new Inspiron 1525 designer wear laptop. I like to call it that way. It is priced at 699$. This one comes with a 3gb ram which I feel is pretty good considering the average ram available in the market today.

This may not be appealing to all but nonetheless it is pretty cool, away from the routine professional laptop look.

Beware, Big brother is watching you...

You think you can just go in and out of US accompained by your laptop just like that. You think you can have pirated versions of software and explicit content on your laptop while travelling internationally from US airports and escape from the customs, then think again. You will be screened for the minute detail in your laptops by the customs.

I have been reading this news every now and then but could confirm this only after the recent issues that involved some arrests and protests. Now we all need to think of the consequences of carrying pirated software and explicit and banned content on our laptops.

My advice is, just upload all the content that you really need to some file storing websites like Adrive or something else, so that you can get access to that when you reach your destination. It's better to loose some bucks than tolerating the emberassment in the hands of US customs.

Bujjigadu Audio Review...

Wow!!!

Yes the word is wow. For the first time when I heard Bujjigadu film songs, I felt that they are ok and all songs have some classy touch to them. But on hearing them again and again, I feel like they are the best in recent times.

The album is a good mix of mass, love, peppy, melodious songs. My pic from this album is LOVE ME song. I guess this will be a love song between the lead pair. The first song Talaiva is a mass number which makes you tap your feet to the rhythm.

My Rating:: 4/5

This is very bad news...

Today morning I woke up and was just reading some news and I was shocked to learn that the cyclone Nargis butchered some 22,500 people in Myanmar. Reports from Yangon say that there are still 41,000 missing people, which means that the death toll might increase a lot.

Just imagine how we feel when just one of us dies. There, the death numbers are in thousands and lakhs have become either homeless or lost some of their property. The U.N. estimated up to a million could be homeless.

The bodies were being dropped into rivers. Video from the scene showed residents in some areas hacking their way through downed trees and trudging through knee-deep, swirling brown water. I feel very sorry for those people as I can imagine the agony that they went through during the cyclone attack and the aftermath. I would like to do something for them rather than just pray for their souls.

Free Music album for download...

Nine Inch Nails is distributing more music for free online. The band released a free album Monday, one day after allowing Facebook users to download a single track. The album, called The Slip, is the second Nine Inch Nails' album released online. It includes the tracks "Echoplex" and "Discipline," both of which were made available online before the entire album's release.

We have to sign up, but that's free, and the music comes in MP3, M4A lossless, 24/96 WAVE, and FLAC formats. It includes art. The songs will be distributed on CDs and vinyl in a few months.

"the average price for all the downloads sold sank to about $2.25 for NIN's previous album", But nearly 100% of that went to the artist. There was no money going to the record label or towards CD production. I hope this works well for NIN.

Soooo Romantic......

Hats off to the artist who carved this masterpiece. It's really very very sweet. I love this one a lot. Hope you all love this pic...

World's first digital camera...

I read an article about the World's first digital camera through digg, thought to share with you.

Invented in 1975 by Steven J. Sasson. It weighed eight pounds, was the size of a toaster, and produced a 0.01 megapixel image that took 23 seconds to record onto a digital cassette tape.
Can you guess how hard it was to use this device. Thanks to the technology, I am not on the suffering end...

AVG 8.0 is the way to go...

Popular freeware anti-virus application AVG Free recently updated to AVG Free 2008. Aside from a general interface overhaul and faster performance, the updated anti-virus scanner has added several new features with a focus on web security.
AVG also scans your incoming and outgoing emails if you download your emails to an offline client such as Microsoft Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird. when I search on Google, AVG tells me if the search results are safe to click or if the pages have spyware in them.
you can control the speed of the virus checking process. You can choose between slow scan, automatic scan and fast scan.If you have the older version of AVG, I strongly recommend you to upgrade.

Parugu - A Wholesome Entertainer...

I watched the film Parugu yesterday, and my verdict err review is that it is a decent movie. I read many reviews about this movie before I watched it. But I feel I am more than satisfied with the movie's outcome.

Yes, this movie has connection with the latest happenings in Chiranjeevi's family.

Yes, this movie clearly depicts the pain and agony that Chiru went through in the recent past.

But, the movie has its originalty in depicting a father's heart when his daughter runs away just before her wedding.

Pros::

Allu Arjun is the biggest asset in the movie.
Comedy by Sreenivas Reddy, Sunil and gang was pretty good too.
Prakash Raj's performance as a man who lost his pride and bride is worth a mention.
The songs were picturised well and the title song is awesome.

Cons::

The biggest minus point I guess is the lead actress, Sheela. She is not that attractive but her acting hides the glamour part.
The narration was a little slow at times.

On the whole Dil Raju hits the bull's eye again. He is the main factor for me to watch this film. It is a must watch for all ages especially for 20 something guys who are ready to elope at the word go and parents of such senseless guys.
